I began this Seattle Washington Charter fishing operation in 1994 with the interest of providing personal, fulfilling and productive fishing trips catering to small groups, families and individuals looking for that quality Salmon fishing experience without spending too much time and money.
I have lived in Seattle since 1968 when I was just 3 years old. Born in San Diego, I was first hooked on fishing when my Grandpa took me out on a Charter Boat while revisiting San Diego at age 9. I was instantly amazed at the diversity of the Sea. For years I fished any time I had the chance, riding my bike down to the dock loaded up with poles, crab pots and a 15 foot net required to land salmon from a dock at low tide. I'm sure it looked ridiculous. I bought my first boat at age 16 before I even had a car or motorcycle. My good fishing buddy and I WALKED the 16 foot boat and 18 HP outboard to the boat ramp on the trailer!
14 years later I did my first official fishing charter in 1994 after obtaining my 50 ton Master Vessel Operators License and obtaining my Salmon Charter license among other requirements such as 1st aid, CPR, insurance etc. Well over 20 years after my first boat I am still doing more fishing charters than ever. During several weeks every year of the salmon season setting process in Washington known as North Of Falcon and Pacific Marine Fisheries Council meetings I volunteer part of my time and energy to represent our Charter Assn of Puget Sound members and lobby for recreational fishers rights and the pursuit of meaningful fishing opportunity at State and Federal Fisheries meetings and forums.
The Boat has gone from 16 feet to 18, to 21 (first guide boat), to 26, and finally to the 28 x 11 foot, Uniflite Salty Dog that we use now and seems to be about perfect.
